Born in Montreal in 1934, Lou attended Baron Byng High School and then Concordia University. He moved to Toronto the night Rene Levesque was elected Premiere of Quebec.

Carol Pask was born in Ottawa and lives in Toronto. She came from a family of farmers from Manitoba and Pickering Ontario. Carol has focused life on her education, as well as her careers as a fashion designer, technical writer, and leadership development and coaching.

Taken from her family as a baby, Antoinette was placed in foster care and sent to Huronia Regional Center at the age of five, where she went through inhumane treatment. However, she didn’t let that unfortunate period in her life deter  her future. 

Born on January 31st, 1954, Marie Slark is a survivor of the Huronia Regional Centre. She spent 9 years there, but was officially discharged 13 years later at age 20. 

Moon-Ja Park’s story is one of perseverance, hard work, and overcoming adversity. Her life is to be admired, filled with accomplishments and faith - all supported by a wonderful family. 

Goldie strives to make change in her community, from when she was a teenager volunteering to teach underprivileged youths how to dance at their community centers to becoming a prominent figure in the volunteering world

Marjorie King was born June 1930 in Trinidad and Tobago. She came to Canada at 23 years old to study teaching, and returned to Trinidad and Tobago to take up her first job. 

Charline is a very hardworking woman. She found herself leaving her home town in South Africa due to extreme racial segregation which was enacted into law in Apartheid years. 

Elizabeth lived quite a hard life when she first moved to Canada. What is more important is how she overcame those obstacles. 

Jan Batchelor was born on February 16, 1942 at Hotel Dieu, Windsor, Ontario. For seven generations, her immediate family has lived in Windsor. 

Elizabeth Nyburg was born on January 23rd, 1955, in the university town of Keele, England. When she was 9, her father got a job in Toronto, and the family left for Canada on a boat...

Sharon Baker was born in Toronto at the original Mount Sinai Hospital in 1948. While she might not have had all the answers to the mysteries of life, she was certain of a few things.

At the age of sixteen, Jack took on a massive responsibility by stepping up and supporting his family. It was a life-changing experience which made him realise the true importance of family.

Tolsa was born in 1947 at Toronto-General Hospital, in the city of Toronto where both her parents were also born and raised. Tolsa's grandparents were from Poland and moved to Canada in 1905 to escape the antisemitism that originated in Russia.

Driven by her strong desire to help others, Martha Mizuik has played an integral role in bettering each community she has touched.

Maureen Simpson, born May 1943, is someone that lives life to the fullest. Above all, she values human connection and compassion. 

Angie Buado was born in 1954 in Quezon, Philippines. Angie grew up in the provincial part of Quezon, the 9th of 10 siblings.
