Goldie Wallensky
"Since I retired, I have started to follow my true passion. We all have to make an income and I did everything I did, but when I retired I thought; if money isn't the object, who really are you?"
Goldie strives to make change in her community, from when she was a teenager volunteering to teach underprivileged youths how to dance at their community centers to becoming a prominent figure in the volunteering world at multiple different organizations after her retirement. Throughout her career as a phone saleswoman, she developed fantastic people skills, learning how to effectively communicate, listen to others and develop meaningful relationships with those around her. She is an inspiration to all and her mottos and quotes throughout our short time together can be taken as life lessons held very close to the heart.

My name is Kusha, I am 17 years old and am working towards becoming an engineer. I love playing soccer, going outside and spending time with my friends.
When I first met Goldie, within seconds I could tell that her bubbly personality and the way she treated me wasn’t just being put on as a show for the interview, it was genuinely how she acted with strangers. I was shocked; but as I listened to her tell the story of her life growing up in California, moving back to Toronto and spending decades doing community service and developing relationships with others through her line of work I wasn’t surprised any longer.
